How does this place not have more reviews?
Legit the best carnitas tacos ever!
The meat is so juicy and tender and flavorful and amazing and life changing.
They gave us a sample taco for standing in line.
You can order pork meat from different parts of the pig. The meat is all good.
I got fried chicharon mixed in with mixed carnitas meat. Holy moly.
Just so good. Come try it! -

After browsing Grand Central Market, my girlfriend and I decided to give this place a try.
We ordered two carnitas tacos to snack on at $3.50 per taco and they came out STUFFED with meat! Not only that, he gave both my girlfriend and I samples of the tacos even after we ordered our two tacos. So, I paid $7 for two "normal" sized tacos (samples) and two gigantic overstuffed tacos. We grabbed seats and I went to the salsa bar and on my way back, he waved me over to give me another sample. I kindly declined from away saying I already bought some but he didn't take no for an answer. The two tacos that we bought had double tortillas, so we distributed the crazy amount of meats across all tortillas and ended up with 7 tacos.
The meat was very flavorful and tender, but it might've been a bit too salty for our tastebuds. It was perfect when we distributed the meat across the 7 tortillas but I think it might've been too much if we didn't have the extra tortillas. Adding lots of lime, onion & cilantro, spicy pickled onions, and salsa really cut down the heavy meat taste and created great flavors. In the end, we were barely able to finish. We came in looking for a quick taste but ended up with a whole meal of 7 tacos!
We also ordered horchata, which tasted like your typical horchata. The only thing was they added a lot of ice so if you're looking to get a drink, ask for less ice. They also charge $1 for using card.
Great place, good flavor, and definitely are not stingy with their portions. I would highly recommend trying them out! -

This place takes me to my childhood, not only because of the Mercado type location, but because the flavors. Some things are meant to be simple and this place truly knows how to do simple, simply sublime.
The carnitas are ridiculously delicious, a $3:50 taco is a bit steep but they put enough in each taco to make two. They had chicharrones and although I didn't order that, I think it's required for me to go back and try them. When you are looking at those gigantic peroles, you know you're staring at greatness.
I have been working in LA for a couple of months now, trying tacos everywhere I can, and these are the best I have had so far, many great places but this little spot takes the taco trophy no questions asked.
Absolutely recommend. -

This is one of the few places in Grand Central Market that YOU SHOULD NOT MISS and here's why!
I've been here couple times already and both times they were PACKED. In a lot of places, you know a food is damn good when you see a lot of people lining up just for it. It was first a recommendation from a friend and now I'm a fan of this place!
Food: CARNITAS TACOS is the BOMB. Please know that unlike any other taco joints in the LA area, this one has SOOO MUCH DELISH MEAT in it. It literally falls off the taco as you devour it so make sure you have good reflex to catch it when it happens.
Please know that since they have a VERY GOOD AMOUNT OF MEAT RATIO in their taco, a couple of orders is ENOUGH for you. This is coming from a short Asian girl who cannot finish a full size burrito. Try not to waste money and food. My recommendation is to just order one or two and go from there.
Be also warned that their ORDERING PROCESS IS SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT from the usual. You are supposed to order from the person who is working on the meats (the person with a knife) and then proceed to the cashier. This is very important especially when its busy! Afterwards, wait for your order and enjoy!
After you get your heavenly ginormous taco, do not forget to go to the condiment station for lime and salsa to complete your experience! THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT as the meat can get really dry and unsavory (which is the reason it lost a star on me). Enjoy it with some Mexican coke if you are really feeling the vibe of it and thank me later!
Price: A LITTLE HIGH but WORTH IT. You wouldn't expect a good chunk of meat on a $1 taco so this one is OKAY especially since they are in Grand Central Market where everything is completely overpriced.
Please also keep in mind that they ACCEPT CARDS but they will charge you extra for the transaction. Therefore, it is better to have cash to save extra $$.
Parking: BAD. BAD. BAD. This is in Grand Central Market so the only way to secure parking in convenience is to pay. I usually go to the one close The Broad (which is around $7-8) and just walk there (which is around 0.2miles). You wouldn't be bored since this area is full of people walking on side streets and you can appreciate DTLA's beautiful buildings and sceneries.
This place is at the very back of the Market if you are coming from The Broad and right at the front if you are coming from Bradbury Building. When in doubt, find the so popular Eggslut and this is right NEXT TO IT.
Service: FAST & GREAT. What I love about street tacos is that there are no frills and pleasantries needed. You get what you asked for and THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT IS IT. You ask for food, you pay up, in a couple minutes your food is ready. I wish they are more friendly with people who do not carry cash (i.e. me) but its all good!
Atmosphere: Since you are in Grand Central Market, the seats are LIMITED of course. The good thing is that this restaurant is at the very end (or front if you are coming from Bradbury) so they have OUTDOOR TABLES right in front of them to give you a nicer experience of DTLA. I recommend doing this than staying indoors as it gets really hot and packed. You are always free to go to the basement seating (stairs are close to the produce section) if you cannot really find one.
As I mentioned earlier, this is one of the few places in Grand Central Market that YOU HAVE TO TRY! It is a little expensive but you have to expect this before coming because most of the food (if not all) in Grand Central are ridiculously expensive and this is one of the FEW PLACES THAT I RECOMMEND WORTH SPENDING MONEY ON. -

This place sits right smack in the front of the grand central market and is one of the best taco spots I've been to! The carnitas is so flavorful and tender. I also got a cueritos and chicharrón taco. It was so loaded, that you can count it as two to three tacos. Definitely a place worth waiting in line for.
